The opening of Musee Dezentral signals the dawn of a new era for NFTs, and art in general

The COVID lockdowns did a lot to change not only how we live, but also how we see the world around us, speeding up changes that otherwise may have taken decades. Crypto, NFTs and the blockchain have been clear winners, and, as a result, new questions have arisen. When art is purely digital, where is it viewed? How is it experienced?

Musee Dezentral was conceived as an answer to these questions, aiming to revolutionise the ways in which people experience art — free from the limitations of physical space.

Currently, only the entrance hall and a single curated gallery are open. The main gallery presents well known NFTs, such as Damian Hirst’s “The Currency”, which is a collection of 10,000 NFTs that correspond to real-life physical artworks.
